Crestview

Living in Crestview
Crestview is a quiet, established neighborhood with a relaxed atmosphere and a welcoming feel. The area represents its 1950s roots in the appearance of many of the homes and businesses. It’s a classic Austin neighborhood: quiet and residential, with older, modest homes and local businesses, and a close-knit community.

Here are some of our favorite things to do in the area.

Local Parks Brentwood Neighborhood Park is one of our favorite parks in Crestview. This spacious spark has plenty of picnic tables, green space, playscape, basketball courts, tennis courts, a walking trail, and even a small pool. We also love Wooten Neighborhood Park for playing and picnicking. Beverly S. Sheffield Northwest District Park is a popular Crestview park that features a playground and picnic area, as well as a basketball court and three tennis courts. The 31-acre park also has a municipal pool and walking trail.

A Bite to Eat – Crestview has a range of dining establishments to satisfy just about any craving. Little Deli & Pizzeria has become a favorite because of its New Jersey–style pizza and kid-friendly outdoor eating area. Named one of the best pizzeria in the city, East Side Pies offers thin-crust deliciousness in 52 different varieties. If you’re in the mood for Mexican food, La Casita Mexican Food will fill your tummy without breaking the bank. So too will Enchiladas y Mas, where the motto is “Never trust a skinny cook.” After dinner, stop by Chocolaterie Tessa for European-style handcrafted truffles, caramels and chocolate-covered snacks.

For the Home – There is arguably not a better place in town to find items for the home than Back Door to the Trade. Featuring the showrooms of Stockton Hicks Laffey (specializing in textiles and trims), Objets (furnishings) and Black Sheep Unique (rugs), Back Door is the closest thing that Austin has to a design center. For the budget-conscious homeowner, the 10,000-square-foot Austin’s Furniture Depot sells “new, used and weird” home accents and accessories.
